Big update: notifications, smarter events, and Discord
Since the last update HaMashak grew into a home for Jewish game developers worldwide, and moved to its new domain, gamedev.co.il. Here is the gist of what's new. 🔔 Notifications You will now know the moment something happens on your account, without chasing it: Comments and reactions on your content Updates on feature requests you posted Replies to team-join and ownership-claim requests Invites to join a studio or company They show up in the bell on the site, and you can also get them as a private message on Discord (your choice). To keep things from getting noisy, comments and reactions are collected into one daily summary, and messages respect quiet hours and Shabbat in your own local time. 📅 Events Connect a calendar once (Google Calendar, Meetup or ICS) and events flow in automatically Add an event by pasting a link RSVP with your profile Free ticketing for events A calendar you can subscribe to that stays up to date, with filters by city and type 🤖 Discord bot Guided onboarding: name, studio, role, discipline, language and location Two-way sync between your site profile and Discord Subscribe to the events calendar with /subscribe Activly working on the bot so you can use it on your own discord server! 🗺️ Cities and map City pages for every community hub An interactive map of members, studios and events Free-text location on your profile, any city in the world 🎮 Games Richer game pages: media, playable demo and store links Import a game from a Steam or itch link Automatic detection when a game releases 🌐 Automatic translation Site content is translated to the language you are browsing in Accurate language detection, even for text that mixes Hebrew and English

This is a part-time role at 60% capacity. The expected schedule is three days per week in the office, with occasional tasks and availability during the other two workdays. The role will provide local operational presence, ensure office and logistics issues are handled quickly, and help the technical team stay focused on core R&D work by providing consistent local operational support. Position Summary The 2D Game Artist will be responsible for creating high-quality illustrations for ongoing live game content, features and events while adhering the overall game art direction and UI style. They should have the ability to deliver exceptional quality, leverage the latest AI art tools and deliver within a reasonable production schedule. 2D Game Artists are expected to be expert users of Adobe Photoshop. Responsibilities: Follow the direction of the Art Manager to create high-quality concept art for game content and events screens that adhere to the overall game’s illustration and UI aesthetic. Work rapidly to ideate creative concepts and work in an iterative process. Create concepts that work with existing game UI aesthetic. Create illustrations that are pre-planned to work well with 2D animation and vfx. Create logo designs for game features that adhere to game art style. Use AI tools to accelerate and enhance concepting and asset creation. Use and/or create 3D elements as basis for 2D illustrations. Demonstrate ability to follow dictated file structure and organization for delivery of art assets. Demonstrate ability to provide all necessary assets and documentation within expected deadlines. Qualifications: 3+ years of experience creating art for mobile games is required. Exceptional understanding of character design, color theory, composition, lighting, graphic design and text treatments is required. Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop is required.
