Screenshot Saturday: post what you're building, every week
Every week, members post a screenshot of the game they're building. A week opens on Sunday and closes on Friday, and on Saturday the week's favourites go up on the site. Where to post: the open week is pinned at the top of the feed until Friday and has its own section on the homepage. Every past week is on the Screenshot Saturday page. Feedback: other developers react with Looks Great, Cool Idea or Want to Play, and can comment on each screenshot. Badges: your first screenshot earns one, and so do your 5th and your 20th. Sorry for the repeated digest DMs on 13 October
On the morning of 13 October our Discord bot sent the new community digest to the members who had signed up for it, and then kept sending it. Most people got around 19 copies, and a few got far more. We're sorry. After sending each digest, the bot is supposed to note that it did. A database change from September made that step fail, so the bot never knew the digest had gone out and sent it again on every check, until we stopped it in the afternoon. We stopped the bot as soon as we noticed, fixed the cause, and deleted every extra copy from your DMs, leaving one. If you turned the digest off, it will stays off. If you blocked the bot, we understand, you can unblock it any time to get notifications from the site again. Questions or complaints: [email protected]
Sign in with LinkedIn, a daily email, and your badges
Signing in: sign in with LinkedIn, or connect it to the account you already have under Profile, Sign-in methods. If your profile lists your LinkedIn, it offers to connect it. Daily email: a morning email of what you missed, in your own time zone. Every email lets you switch to weekly or turn it off. Badges: a badge you earn now shows on the site and lands in your notifications. Notifications: opening a page clears every notification about it, and each one shows the person or the thing it is about. Reporting antisemitism: report it on the website, in English or Hebrew, without Discord. Games: a solo developer can ask to manage a game they are credited on. Events: who runs the event sits next to the date and venue. Sheba ARC jam: registrants confirm they're coming with one click from the email, and get a page with the venue and a calendar link. Logo: English readers see the logo in English. Fixes: the jobs list no longer repeats jobs from one page to the next, and an opening posted in several languages shows once. Hebrew names on profiles display properly, jam covers show in full, and on the Hebrew site Contact, My jobs and My applications work in Hebrew.
Two months on HaMeshek: posting jobs, a Hebrew site, and a guided start
Getting started: a checklist on your profile, and a pointer on each section the first time you open it. Jobs: post one in four answers, or paste a link and the form fills itself. Jobs posted here sit above the ones we collect. Games: filter by store, with a count on every option. Featured games go out on our Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook with a trailer clip, and the studio hears about it. Events: a recurring series is one card, with a "Hide recurring" filter. Ticketing, reminders and time zones work for every event. Communities: organizers can claim and run their community's page. Pages take LinkedIn and YouTube links. Hebrew: the whole site has its own Hebrew address at /he. Discord: opt in to role pings for new jobs and events. Safety: a hate report now gets an outcome, and the reporter hears it.
